Katlyn Keane earned her JMG in 2005 with the infamous Junior Maine Babes through Wild River Adventures Guide Service. After her experience at Swan Island she knew she wanted to stay involved. She taught JMG, among other programs, at Bryant Pond 4-H camp from 2008 - 2011 and earned her Maine Guides License during this time in 2009. Growing up in Maine with two parents who held Guides Licenses and owned a guiding business was an idyllic upbringing and what led Katlyn to her passion for the outdoors. Moving to Vermont for college, then Moab, UT, then Buffalo, NY, then Denver, CO has not been as conducive to working as a Maine Guide, however, she leads trips in Maine when possible. Since 2009 she has guided several multi-day hiking and canoeing trips whenever she can sneak away from “real life” and has helped out at testing camp whenever her summer schedule permits. In her free time Katlyn enjoys hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, mountain biking and generally enjoying being outdoors.
